Especially anyone who is in pain and wanting to move better. Since we focus on what makes us move well as humans we tend to help people make long lasting changes.
As we age we all run the risk of moving less. And less, and less. We’ve all heard of sarcopenia, age related muscle loss. Or the dreaded knee or even worse hip surgery you’ll need when you get older.
Well not for June! At 80 years old she was recommended hip surgery due to her ever growing hip pains but then she found FP.
Not everyone ages the same or moves the same as we age. Some move better than others and that’s what we are trying to figure out. What makes a good move… a good mover.
As we figure this out and code human biomechanics we seek to pass this information on to you so that you can begin taking a proactive approach to healing your body and movement. Let us make moving better easier.
Great work here by @mark_gresham__ and June!
Walking improvements after 20 days of Functional Patterns.
Before: June is 80 years old, she came to me with crippling hip and back pain. A week prior to seeing me she was told by her physiotherapist she would need to have a left hip surgery. Her hip pain had slowly escalated over the last few months and she was now unable to go for her daily walk or participate in any physical activities and this was greatly affecting her mental health.
After: 20 days later, June is pain free at rest and walking. She is walking her daily 30 minutes again with no issues. She is clearly showcasing much better tensegrity with her hips and will not be having any surgeries.
